A criminal matter runs from investigation through trial, appeal and revision, and we act for the defence at every stage of it. Matters arise under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and under the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 where the offence was committed before those codes came into force.

Special Courts under the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act, CBI Courts, the Adjudicating Authority and Appellate Tribunal under the PMLA, the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India
Economic and regulatory matters turn on documents and audit trails, and often run as civil, criminal and regulatory proceedings side by side. We act in the criminal proceedings and in the regulatory and appellate proceedings that run beside them.

Insurance and Motor Accident Claims
Motor Accident Claims Tribunals, the District, State and National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions, the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India
We act for insurance companies in disputed claims, repudiated policies and surveyor questions, and in motor accident compensation under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Anukirat Singh Baweja is empanelled with ICICI Lombard, Shriram and Magma General Insurance, and appears for them before the Motor Accident Claims Tribunals.

Matrimonial Litigation
Family Courts, the Magistrates in proceedings under the Domestic Violence Act, the High Courts and the Supreme Court of India in transfer petitions
We advise on the remedies available under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, the Special Marriage Act, 1954 and the other personal laws, and on what each would mean in practice. We act in contested proceedings and in negotiated settlements, including where the custody or maintenance of children is in issue.
